How much should I tip?

Does this calculator split the tip evenly among everyone?
Yes. Once you enter the number of people, the tool divides the total bill (including tip) equally among that many people. For uneven splits based on what each person ordered, you'll need to calculate individual shares separately.
Should I tip on the pre-tax or post-tax amount?
This is a matter of personal preference and local custom — some people tip on the subtotal before tax, others on the total after tax. Enter whichever amount you'd like to base the tip on.
