About the BMI Calculator
Body Mass Index (BMI) is a widely used screening measurement that estimates whether your weight is healthy for your height. Enter your weight and height below to get your BMI instantly, along with the standard weight category it falls into.
How to use it

3. See your BMI value and category (Underweight, Normal, Overweight, or Obese).
Understanding BMI categories
According to the World Health Organization's standard adult classification: below 18.5 is Underweight, 18.5–24.9 is Normal weight, 25–29.9 is Overweight, and 30 and above is Obese. BMI is a useful general screening tool, but it doesn't account for muscle mass, bone density, or body composition — athletes, for example, can have a high BMI while carrying very little body fat.
Frequently asked questions
Is BMI an accurate measure of health?
BMI is a useful general indicator but not a complete picture of health. It doesn't distinguish between muscle and fat, so it should be considered alongside other factors, not as a standalone diagnosis.
